Just got in from the Knoxville courses over 9 days to see a box from Lone Wolf Distributors sitting on the counter for me.

It's the new 22 lr conversion kit for my glock 17 1st gen trainer. I'll be taking it out to break it in [ they say it needs 200-400 rds through it to make it totally reliable ], and report back after the range session.

The instructions specifically state to NOT use federal ammo, which bites because I have 16K of that stuff sitting in anticipation of using this conversion in the classes.

It will pay for itself in ammo savings over 9mm in less than 3 months for me, so it isn't really an expense, but something that keeps the 9mm expenses way down in the future [ plus it's a write off :D ]

If you have one, know someone who has/uses one, let us know what you like, dislike and have found with yours/theirs.

Have had one for about 1 1/2 years now. great little toy, have shot everything through it but mostly CCI. Have run about 15,000 rds through it / only problem is that it does need to be cleaned pretty often, well worth the $

I bought one a couple of years ago from Ben at Glockmeister. I love it.

In fact, I have it permanently mounted on a 2nd Gen G22 frame. The top end of the G22 went to a friend who was building a project gun on one of the new aluminum frames. So, now I have a dedicated G22/22...:D

My bride is buying me one for my birthday. I have Kimbers conversion for my CDP Pro. I have a third Gen 17 that I'm going to set up. Then I can practice with DA or Glock action only and Single action auto, cheaply.

Used the accurate arms 22 conversion on a g17 frame in the Flagstaff class this last weekend to the tune of about 300 rds.

Brought several brands of ammo for it. It did not like the federal ammo, but the remington fodder worked flawless all day and saved me some money as well over using the 9mm barrel/slide.

It's a keeper once you discover what it likes to eat.

I have to agree that for the average person, if you are one addicted to practice, unless you have 22 capability, it will drive you to the poorhouse.

B,

Any indication what it doesn't like about Federal?

I do about half my practice with .22s. I just ran about 300 rds of ten year old Federal (rotating stock) through my Buck Mark yesterday without a glitch.

G,

The advantage arms didn't feed the federal, and the paperwork that comes with the conversion states not to use federal, but I had to try it as I have 16,000 rds of it sittting here at the house.

Thats okay, I'll use the Federals in the k frame model 17 revos on ariels and the Walther P22 with the can on it, so not all is lost there.:D

The federals would feed jam, and if and when it fed one, would not cycle the slide. I suspect the rems are hotter and the conversion kit needs that extra ooomph to work the action.
