Sunday, my wife and daughter were out in my truck, and the battery went tango uniform, no problems til they drive it. They call me, I jump in the car and go. Half way there I realize I've left my Glock (M27) at home. Get there and the battery is past dead. My wife gets in the car and goes about 3 blocks to AutoZone, gets a new battery,.While she's gone I see a guy walking up to me and my daughter, prison tattoos, sleeves. I get between him and my daughter, I know where he got his ink.
We start talking, and I asked "Where did you get you ink?" He said behind bars. The whole time I'm thinking, I left my gun at home, DAMN. As we stand there talking, I say to him "I know you!" Put him in jail 2 years ago, and he reconized me.

I really screwed up! Lucky for us everything turned out okay. WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN!

Welcome to the forum from the moderators and admin.

Glad everything turned out well in that situation, valuable lessons learned without having to pay a penalty are well worth remembering. Members should benefit from your experience, thanks for posting it.

Stay safe out there.

Okay...number one...I am glad it turned out okay.

Number two...you owe the jar a dollar.

When I was still active LE...we had a rule amongst ourselves...if you get caught without a piece on you...you owe the jar a dollar. End of the year...use the money for pizza.

I still have a "jar" here at home. If I leave the house without a piece...I put a buck in my daughter's piggy bank.
