Videos and targets shot using a couple techniques of CAR.

10 rounds at 15 feet (http://www.dt-concepts.com/mg/10shots-15feet-high.mpg) using the "high" position. Here is an annotated picture of the target (http://www.dt-concepts.com/images/10rounds-15feet-high.jpg) shot during the video and here is a video (http://www.dt-concepts.com/mg/5ShotsFromHigh-2.mpg) of the technique.

This video (http://www.dt-concepts.com/mg/7yards-10rounds.mpg) was done as part of a friendly internet shooting 'contest'. The rules were simple: shoot 10 rounds in 5 seconds or less at 7 yards. The smallest group size wins. Here is the annotated target (http://www.dt-concepts.com/images/7yards-10rounds.jpg). The timer you can hear was set to a 5 second par time.

So Randy,, is that a Glock-18 your SHooting?,, I see no movement in your trigger finger during the vid.

I wish. :) I did get to shoot a modified 19 a couple years ago.

This is a plain old 17. Step through it a frame at a time and the finger movement is very easy to see. Splits are a little slow for FA.

I'm impressed!! Don't get your tit caught in that thing.:) I'm going to show my ignorance here so bare with me. When in swat I was trained to hold the weapon on strong side elbow bent, arm locked into your side. You varied your aim (left to right) by moving your body, up\ down was by tilting your torso forward and backward. With this method you could walk naturally. I just tried the hold in the video and can tell it is a better method. Now for the question. It seems to me you would want to maintain the bladed position. In order to walk do you stutter step or how do you use your feet?

Don't get your tit caught in that thing.

Fortunately, I am not that well endowed. ;)

P.C. teaches people to shuffle their feet. I find this an unnatural movement and don't practice it myself. I don't usually take 'full stride' steps, but there is more movement than a shuffle.

When practicing with the bladed technique shown in the video, I am usually moving forwards or backwards from my vantage point (left and right - laterally in relation to the threat).

You vary the aim with this technique in the same manner you mentioned.

Randy, why did you change from the blue jump suit with the red S on the chest :-) Unbelievable trigger work and grouping!
Seriously, do you use something like bumb fireing or is it just super fast trigger work?

Hey - thanks guys!

The splits in those videos are around .14. On a *real* good day I can hit .11's but not for more than a few rounds. The 'trick' is the short trigger reset; that and I have shot many cases of ammo from that position. It goes pretty quick. :)

I have fooled around a time or two with trying to find the 'magic' grip and trigger pressures to get the 'bump fire' technique to work. So far, nothing repeatable and nothing beyond 4 to 5 rounds. When I do hit it, it sounds MUCH faster than the .14 splits. I have never captured it on a timer and don't really know how fast it happens.

That's some fast trigger work. I've tried the same drill but can't come close to at getting that darn trigger finger to move that fast. Hell, I'm luck to get 5 off in one second.

Well I've done some experimentation and have learned how to grip the gun properly in the "high" position to get those rounds off fast. In fact I shoot 5 rds fast enough that my timer only picks up 3 or 4 shots.
