Hi all.
I wish they made an unobtrusive shoe designed for
kicking, such as having a toe cap, but still light and
supportive for balance.

Joe, can you expand a little on what you mean? Some here may know but I'm not sure if you are asking for a reinforced toe or no toe.

I'd like a relatively light shoe with a relatively thin flat sole for
stability and agility, and a reinforced toe so straight kicks with
the point of the shoe won't hurt my toes. Most steel-toed
shoes have hugely thick heavy soles to protect from perforations
on construction sites etc. I have been searching more since my
original post, and I'm looking at stuff like:

For me the ORIGINAL DOC MARTINS, worked great, just had to get over the yellow soles and thread:D

I like a light pair of tennis shoe, perferably an outdoor type with a reinforced toe. Steel toes have hurt my feet when throwing front kicks from lack of flexibility. Another favorite is a good pair of cowboy boots. These are probably my all around favorite street fight shoe.

I agree with Jim. I like tenneys and cowboy boots. Tennys, I think of instep and heel kicks. Cowboy boots are great and work for dress (spit shined) or casual.
