I recently had all the home windows and doors upgraded with ShatterGuard protection.
The white house as well as the pentagon use this same product to keep bombers from setting trucks/explosives near entrances of structures and causing collateral damage from flying glass and concusional affects to those in proximity to entrances and windows.
Check the videos of this product at the link provided. Bats, tire irons, etc can't get through this stuff.

We are in the process of installing shatterguard on all glass doors and windows with easy entry. The video is certainly worth watching, when I showed the owner the vid I received two bills from Shatterguard one month latter.

Good link! Our house is two story but from the back may even be considered three story as it is HIGH!
One of the reasons we chose this older brick in the first place was that it is a house that can be fought from, due to the crazy layout and landscaping of the yards.
I am about to start the project of reinforcing doors.I'm going to look into this for the downstairs windows right now,and perhaps upstairs later.
Thanks for the link,B. This stuff looks good.

Doc,
This all started because my wife wanted french doors at the back of the house when it was built.
They sure look nice but they are a nightmare where security is concerned.:o
It bothered me the glass could be easily broken [ even though they are thick and double pane ] and entry from there pretty easy. I looked into decorative steel grating, but they open out, not in, so that was not an option, not to mention it would make the "nice looking doors" look like a prison cell [ decoratively, of course ]:o .
We had a custom security door made for the front door, and it is the cats meow, but what to do about the back doors, the biggest nightmare. The custom maker/installer turned me on to the ShatterGuard product as an alternative that works.
I researched it and decided if they can't break the glass and get in, they can't unlock the deadbolt and take anything they want, at least from that entry point [ it's the first place they'll try to gain entry other than the garage IMO as the doors with lots of glass looks invitingly easy ].
While the ShatterGuard rep was here, I had him do all the windows in the house as well [ the house is one level ]. I'm less concerned about the security here when I'm traveling and the Mrs. is home alone as well as when just away for a few hours or the day.
What really brought it all to the forefront to do something was catching two 20-21 year olds meandering up the wash down back, out of sight of neighbors and the street and events that unfolded when I caught them [ but that is another story best held for a Friday Night Lies thread ]:D
Brownie,I'm well aware of how the women are when it comes to decorative appointments in the home. Been working all summer on painting and some small remodeling projects inside.
Trying to make it more secure now, after all this time.
Looking forward to hearing the story on the capture of the "yutes".:)

Quick question on pricing:
Do they price that by the square foot?
Also, that FogShield they sell looks very interesting!

Thanks. It looks like a worthwhile investment.
I've been thinking about the vehicle glass kit as well.
