I've got one of these:

http://www.gem-tech.com/outback.html

which sits on the same 22lr pistol thats in that photo in the link above. With subsonic loads, it's shorter barrel [ lower velocity ], this one can be pretty quiet.

The CAN weighs only 2.5 ounces and you can just see the tops of the sights with it mounted. No muffs required;)

I don't have any. I'm trying to figure out what I want to get one for.
What I'd really like is one of the Ruger 22's with the integral suppressed bbl.
Yours looks good. That your sneaky gun?:)

B,

That looks like a blast, quiet blast that is!

I had an opportunity to shoot an AR-15 fitted with a can, that is a real impressive setup. All the muzzle blast goes away and all you hear is the sonic crack like a big cap gun. It was also quiet enough to go without hearing protection.

So many toys, so little money!

Your spot on Ram. Thats the advantage to silencers. How these became a federal issue is beyond me. Anyone who shoots knows the biggest bitch about shooters is the noise. Just another ignorant prejudice against shooters.

Jim,

Everyone knows that if we had supressors on our guns we would go around shooting everything in sight:eek: You know, just like the blood bath that was going to happen if they let the assault weapon ban expire!

I've always looked at "cans" as offensive myself.:D

How I came to own this one is a long sordid story, but now that I have one I like the idea of having "quiet" available.

Ram,

1/2 a days worth of ITFTS training, fill out the paperwork and wait 5 weeks till the tax stamp came in to pick it up.:D

Another student gave me the 22 for training the same day.:D :D

Hard to pass on those offers, and they wanted to make sure I had a can like they did for playing in the desert.

Everyone won on this deal I guess.

Heck, here's a pic of some of mine
Ruger 10-22 with TAC 65, MP5 in .40 with Raptor 40, and M-4 with TAC 16.
I also have a P-22 with Outback, I use regular Federal .22 ammo since the barrel is so short it can't get the bullet supersonic anyway, and save the subsonic ammo for the 10-22.

SPG,

I've got a line on a 9mm can as well in the near future. Gunslinger is helping in this quest presently. Knows a thing or two about cans and quiet, as you can see from his picture.

did you get the package I sent ya yet?

Hay Brownie I got no "stinking cans" but I got a "can do" book. I'll make you
a copy for your April trip to Cincinnati.
