From the yellow in Copper's awareness palette. The yellow jacket or condition yellow is donned upon leaving one's house and doffed upon returning home and chacking the house.

The secret is learning to maintain yellow while still remaining in a relaxed state. Failure to achieve this will result in either falling out of the yellow state or turning into a nerveous wreck. It like all other attributes takes time and practice to achieve.

Perhaps you can share some tips, techniques on how folks can learn to don their yellow jacket upon leaving their house, and doff it upon their return?

That is, ideas on how to practice to achieve that, dare I say, zen state?

Intially, try to see everything around you, but in a relaxed way. In other words, your view is constantly changing, due either to your own movement or the movement of others. People and things continually pass through your visual screen.

There is no tension or effort in this viewing. Behind the screen is your threat/trouble detector. The result is just like something passing through a metal detector, with one exception. A metal detector normally buzzes regardless of the type (with some exceptions) or quantity of metal it detects. Your threat/trouble detector has multiple levels of buzz. From a strange movement (minor) to someone holding a gun (major).

These various levels of alert are helpful in that they reduce the effort and related tension delegated to a minor signal, while still maintaining the energy to devote to a larger signal if it is detected. As most signals will be of the minor type, little energy is devoted to them and there is lettle raise in your tension level. The result is the ability to maintain the yellow level for extended periods of time.

The setting of the various types of ques which will determine which level a particular person, movement or action is assigned, is best left to the individual, based on their training, experience and the existing environment. This can be practiced initially by simple drills. For example, anytime you see a person wearing red a low level signal will be initiated. With time you will be able to set whatever parameters you wish to various levels of alert that will be triggered from your relaxed observation state.

The wild card will be the times that the hair on the back of your neck stands up for no apparent reason. Then the process is reversed, in that an alert has been caused but the reason is unknown, so you must seek it out.
