not real long ago i got a chance to run some rounds through, they were the 230gr mag tech. at various yards seem to do pretty good, i saved the targets, but didn't see a comedy section on here to post em in...lol. naw, i wasn't that bad in fact at 12-15 yards its pretty much spot on. now the 25 yard rapid fire, well... left something to be desired. ifn it really had been a bg he woulda had extra bellybuttons to show...lol. but next time i'm gonna slow way down, an see what i can do. as the first time i would say i was trigger happy, real bad. it was the first pistol i've ever shot. but i did have 2 failures to return to battery, could of been me or the shells? i'm not sure. this time i have the winchester white box also in 230gr, gonna give them a try. what would be a good personal defense round in the same caliber? also i'm having trouble locating the front site when i pull the gun up to fire. thank you very much for any an all info...hoot
also i'm havng trouble locating the front sight when i pull the gun up to fire..
I'll let a certified instructor jump on this one. As far as carry loads I like the Ranger 230 gr. standard pressure and the Rem Golden sabre in my 1911's.
The price of .45 ACP is soaring higher than all the other service calibers, tho.so be prepared to shell out the dough for either. Both good performers.
As far as a comedy forum goes,Steve2267 started Laughing Matters in the Campfire forum,so you could put it there.:D
I have a feeling that the Mods may eventually move everything I write to that section.:o :D

Do you have vision issues? Are you seeing the front sight as a double? blurry? etc? If those are not issues----------
Square to the threat [ you can do this with an UNLOADED gun in the mirror at home ], close your eyes, draw the gun, bring the gun up into an ISO two handed hold and open your eyes. Is the gun below line of sight?, to one side?,
Repeat and rinse until the gun comes up on threat in your line of vision naturally. When you've got your eyes closed, let your "minds eye" remember where that threat was when you last looked, get your finished draw so that your gun is on threat automatically through your proprioceptor development.

Hoot, the propreoception thread is long and well written by Brownie,in such a manner as to be easily understood.I would suggest that you read it and absorb as much as possible. It will certainly start opening some doors for you as well as the writtten word on the subject can, without hands on insruction.

thanks guys, the mirror practice really works. in just about all my repetitions i was clearly in center mass, i think the trouble with me not locating the front site was, i was trying to out run my ability at first but the mirror really cleared it up a whole lot. as i fell back on the thread that said to point at an object on the wall as if scolding a dog an then site down your extended finger. i sorta used both an can locate the front site pretty good now. guys, thats just good stuff. an i appreciate it. but on the last rep,i wanted to get as life like as possible:eek: the drywallers was here today an our new mirror will be here thursday, thanks...hoot....lol
