Okay first let me state that I've fired a good 700 rounds of .40 through my relatively new Kahr P40. I can reliably make that one ragged hole in the target paper out at 10 yards with either hand. Sometimes (hah).

However, after watching a video of some rapid-fire point shooting in another thread, I feel like I won't get anywhere close to the rate of fire and accuracy that was displayed in the video... with my P40 in hand.

The other day, I fired a couple mags through a P9, and was amazed at how easy it was to shoot. However, I'm afraid that the 9mm from the 3.5" barrell just doesn't have enough punch. From the little bit of reading I've done so far here, I guess I should be able to empty the mag relatively quickly into an 8" circle at ~6-10 feet. Do you guys think the .40 is just too much for a lightweight polymer-framed handgun?

It'll be a handful for most people. The 40 has got plenty of snap, being a high pressure cartridge. Don't worry too much about firing your Kahr like Desert Rat did in that clip. It's a result of less recoil with the 9mm and his time on the firearms.

You'll be doing just fine here with the same skills in about 2 months.

Thanks for the encouragement. I know that I could probably be that fast with a full-sized 9mm, but the truth is I will never be able to carry one on my small 135 pound frame. I'm chomping at the bit, I keep going to the range and "practicing," but I just KNOW I'm not practicing the right shooting techniques.

Jesse,

Now that you've experienced Flagstaff, whats your impression of your ability with that Kahr for rate of fire and hits?;)
