It has come to my attention that too many shooters are suffering for glockitis. The only sure cure known to completely cure glockitis is Commander Envy. To whet your appetite and start your recovery, please drink the following in:

I don't know if there is a cure for glockitis, but those 1911's sure are sweet. I've had several commanders over the years, might be carrying one again pretty soon here.

That doesn't mean I'm cured by any means though;)

Yes sir, no ones going to be accusing you of using your sights on them babies.

I've always like the milspec small nub front sight, one of the reasons I'm only looking at the early commanders.

There is no cure... only recovery. The first step to recovery is recognizing there is a problem.

Other side of the equation:

I have no Glock problem. I don't want to recover. I don't NEED to recover. Leave me alone!

Want to se my Glock collection? What? NO! Well if you don't want to see my Glock then LEAVE ME ALONE!

Seriously, Nice 1911's. They are great guns, Great triggers, I have a couple. I just run my Glocks better, and they carry more Glock chow! :D

Did I mention I don't need no stinking cure!

Those 2 commanders definitely have character. Both look well used. Might have to get me one sometime this year. Damn sure aint no safe queens. I love the looks of a well used tool.

My carry 1911 is a Springfield LW Compact (4"). Carries nice, shoots well. But damned if it wasn't sweet to shoot that heavier Colt Combat Commander. She just soaked up that recoil. Sweet. That's the only word for it.

The only chance of overcoming glockitis is to purchase another glock...which of course only feeds the addiction.
You'll then need to implement a 12-step program which requires you to purchase a nice 1911 and at least two long guns. I've noticed that one each of a 5.56 and a 7.62 variety usually have the best chances of distracting you.
Eventually, you're expected to step up and buy a decent heavy barreled bolt gun, preferably of the .308/7.62 family, and of course a 10x scope.

Then, go get a ride in an M1A1 tank and ask if you can shoot the big peashooter on top.

Finally, as the last step...go purchase yourself another Glock ;)

Progress? Maybe not. But at least it'll be fun!

You wouldn't happen to know anyone through whom such a ride might be arranged, would you? ;)

My Glockitis problem is not confined to only Glocks....I have the same problem with most every pistol that my (very underhanded) dealer says " come here and feel this one" as he hands it to me to try on. I have a sickness that is only cured either when I purchase another pistol OR I just stay home and don't go near the gun shop. I just can't help myself.

Got the OCD thing going on huh?:D Join the crowd!

I've now got 6 glocks [ 2 17's, 2 19's, a 26, and a 21sf ] I use one of the 17's and 19's for training purposes only. Lately been carrying the 21sf which is growing on me.

Brownie:

Have you seen the new (to me) Glock sights that are fiber optic/tritium. I was mad at my other half 3 weeks ago and went to my gun shop and bought a G17 and when the @#$# guy who knows how I am handed me the package of the new sights (with a small grin on his face) and asked "how bout these babies, I could have them on in 10 min" I crumbled under the pressure. But I love these sights, they seem to have batteries in them during the day time and really glow bright at night all in a streamlined mount. If you have, what do you think of them? I am thinking about replacing my other Glock sights with them.

I've switched out the fiber optic with tritium on the two glocks I had them installed on as my g19 front fiber optic fell out after just a few thousand rounds while I was training in Nevada in May this year. When I glued it back into place after I got home, it lost half it's tritium glow.

I really like them, but they are not holding up to continued use as I expected they might. Lesson learned the hard way, -------again:(

I'm back to meprolight or stock glock tritiums on my carry guns.
