what is the proper way to use a flashlight lanyard i know their is an article about it on the internet but i cant find it thanks

I'm not sure I really understand the question. It's a lanyard... it goes on your wrist.
Could you be a little more specific?

For me . . . the lanyard is something that along with the box the light comes in gets thrown in the trash.
If anything, I would replace it with a heavy duty rubber O-ring that will fit your thumb.
You can then use it with your weak hand and easily flip it out of the way and still hold on to it.
I saw Clint Smith demonstrate the technique on one of the SD shows on shooting USA and it seems to work well.
Join lanyards of two flashlights together and you have Nunchaku Grasshopper!
I occasionally use a low power led flashlight on a Lanyard around the neck to have it handy during night shoots.
In a tactical environ this could be a hazard though. :eek:
