Hello All,

Being sometimes rather dense I probably should have posted here rather than some of the main gun forums.
I've been building some AR rifles for some time now. They are a couple project builds I started about two years ago. Just to give you an idea of what's going on this is another forum where I got the most interaction regarding what I am testing:

Basically I am curious if anyone here familiar with some of the instinctive/point sighting methods has ever tried to point shoot a flattop AR rifle which also has a low profile gas block?

As you can see in this other forum I intend to raise the sight picture by a half an inch via an integrated rail. Just curious if I'm headed down a path which has never been trodden?

I'll be training a retired 22 year veteran of the Pathfinders military unit who re-enlisted and is headed to the sand box in a month in rifle QK using an AR this coming Wed. the 18th. He's going back with a front line MI unit this time around.

I've trained 3 such high level mil types on the AR platform in QK rifle in the last few years. The flat top will be no problem on the QK skills. The standard sighted AR's are also quite capable with the skill, but not if they have an aimpoint or some such red dot system on the upper receiver, it gets in the way.

Interesting...how about with a riser rail? Say one of the Yankee Hill, or perhaps an ARMS Swan rail as on the original SPR's?

What kind of accuracy could you achieve?
