I'm always on the look out for a new knife and a bargain, and I am a fan of the Kasper/Polkowski Companion, so it's only natural that I took a look at the folder. I had one of the smaller ones years ago, and didn't care for it. Much too small. I just bought the larger Kasper folder made by CRKT from ebay for 46.00 bucks, and I like it. The blade size and shape is virtually identical to the Companion, but the handle on the folder is bigger. This is a large knife for a folder, but is not overly heavy and fits my hand well. Easy to open with either the thumb stud or by inertia, the LAWKS locking system is easy to engage upon opening, and the liner-lock is very secure when the LAWKS is engaged. It came razor sharp, and this one has the black finish on the blade. Feels great in the hand and is very secure, and works well in forward or reverse grip. I wish it were made with better steel, but the AUS-6 is decent, and while it may not hold an edge for long, it will do okay for social purposes. Overall, I like it a lot.
