We just got a few of these into the shop, so of course I had to take one for "T&E".
And of course I just had to get the P-22 to go with it, it's a vicious spiral I tell ya.

Neeto Gunslinger. How do you like the P22? I've had one for a few years and it has become my trail gun. I think its a hoot to shoot! One thing I have done with some of my semiauto's is to lighten the springs to shoot CB caps. They still are somewhat loud but much quieter than normal ammo.

The last Group Buy we did on these they came in about $165.00 not counting the NFA paperwork.
They are the Tactical(I warned you about this word) Inovation TAC 65 suppressor, It's a good one for pistols.
IMHO not near as good as the AAC Pilot, but then again not near the price either.
Rather than BS you guys on Product vs Price I'll just refer you to the suppressor forum and let you decide what is better bang (or lack of) for the buck...

How do you like the P22?
The pistol is nothing but a dream, I have put that poor thing through a veritable buffet of ammo that would choke a 10-22 and it has preformed without flaw.
In the 3 days I've had it, it has eaten lead, coated, and wax lubed ammo like a champ to T&E this suppressor.
I guess it's right around 1500 rounds fired with not one hiccup.

I picked up one of these with the 3.4 inch barrel for a "special projects" piece the other day.
Anyone have any experience with this firearm?
I've researched a little here and there on them, and can't find much in the way of actual experience with them.
Thanks

I've had one for several years now. I really like this pistol. Small and fairly accurate I keep it on my hiking belt. It is a natural point shooting pistol for me, the grip angle is just right. I've not shot mine much at distance but will this spring as we walk the dogs through the park here. Here's my hiking kit. As you can see the pistol is small and easy to carry.

No experience with the gun but you have me curious about the "special projects" ?

Ram,
The P22 comes with a threaded barrel from the manufacturer:D

I just picked one up about 4 weeks ago.
I like it. I have the 3.4" bbl. in black. It's nice little shooter although it likes the hotter JHP type rounds best. It's a fun little gun.

Low Drag,
Thats the barrel I chose of the two lengths available as well.
Less velocity created in the shorter barrel:D
Mine has run fine today on subsonic ammo, but I understand from others these P22's do like the hotter ammo. If you are experiencing any finickyness with it, make sure your magazines have an "A" on them. The early mags had problems with feeding, ejecting and stovepiping. Walther corrected the issue with the mags and stamped the upgraded one with that "A".
edited to add:
It is very accurate with the sights that came with it. I shot this one today at 14 feet and put three touching dead on center in the 3x5 card I had hung from a tree in the wash down back. It's a keeper.

One thing to consider with a suppressed P-22 is that use of subsonic ammo is not mandatory.
Due to the short barrel length, even standard and some high velocity ammo will not go supersonic.
I use Federal value pack ammo with little Db gain over subsonic ammo, plus it's a lot cheaper than Eley or Aguila subsonic.
Right now I'm running a AAC Pilot on mine.
Now if you mount that suppressor on a rifle, THEN subsonic ammo is a must.
As for the P-22 it's self, they are pretty sturdy little pistols, the only drawback I have with mine is that I'm not real fond of the magazine disconnect.
ETA:
Back in May I posted a little about my P-22:

I'm not to hot for the magazine disconnect either. However I still like the little pistol. I hope it sees lots of first time shooters giving it a test drive. (this it the gun I'll start any newby out with)

Hey Gunslinger,
Damned if you didn't. How to hell did I forget that thread anyway:confused:
So here's what I did. I merged my thread from the other day with your original in May so all the thoughts on this little 22 can be seen in one area.
BTW-- that was a real nice picture of the P22 you have up with that can on it. Any idea what the velocity is out of the 3.4 inch barrel with standard loads and the subsonics?

As just a WAG, I would figure the subsonic is pushing about 900 FPS, for standard load probably somewhere in the 1050 range.
I really should run some through a Chrono for definative numbers.

I have bought 3 different P22's and have nothing but good things to say about them. I put 1,000's of rounds through mine. I took off the rear sight and front sight for point shooting. I also use it to teach others about point shooting and others have purchased them and all love the gun. Very few problems. The most common is not extracting a round and I actually saw one that the safety would come down about halfway causing a misfire. Simple solution at the range was to remove the safety screw and put a piece of paper under the lever. My nephew has 2 and shoots the living hell out of them with no problems.
