Read a favorable review on this gun. Anyone have any experience with it?

Hi Alan,

I haven't held one of these yet though I have seen favorable reviews on this gun as well.

The bobtailed main spring housing is interesting. It's basic configuation is that of a flat mainspring housing and then bobbed at the end. I've always like the arched mainsprings on my single action 45's as they seem to naturally point better for me than the flat mainspring housings.

Others find the flat mainspring to their liking so it really is a matter of learning which one you favor personally before buying. You can probably find a few people you know who have both types on their guns and I'd suggest firing both to determine which suits you before spending the money on one.

The DW 45 uses some very good parts in it's construction from Ed Brown, and Trijicon N/S which are quality and similiar in shape to the Novak no snag rear setup which I really like [ but don't have on my own 45s' ], Wolff springs throughout which I prefer as well.

If I were looking for a compact single action 45 I'd consider this one seriously myself due to the parts used throughout the pistol alone instead of MIM parts like so many other makers are using now to save costs on manufacturing.

Looks like I better start saving my lunch money. Never hurts to miss a few meals at this age.:)

Let us know with a review here if you get one Alan. I know a few who would be interested in how that bobtail works out as well as the overall feel of that one.

I've had one for 2 yrs. now. The fit and finish is amazing. There is NO play in the slide to frame fit, yet it cycles easily. This remains the same after 4K rounds. The bobtail feels great, and conforms to the the heel of your hand like it was made for it. It also conceals much better than a square grip, especially if you use a holster w/ the FBI cant.

Nothing has broken on this gun. The only problem I have is the occasional last eject bouncing off my noodle. My pistol has an external extractor, which CZ has changed thankfully to the traditional internal extractor. That may have cured the brass eating. It also gives me a good excuse to get another.

My Dan Wesson PT-C has been extremely reliable. I say get one.
