Default Anyone else use C.A.R.?

I'm a fan of C.A.R. due to my cross eye dominance issues.

Anyone else use it as their "primary" or "preferred" method?

My whole agency shoots CAR. No shots on BGs yet but three dead pit bulls during entries with no stray rounds.

I recently learned to use the technique. Standing about 6 feet from a target while trying to evade the kill zone. Started from "compressed ready" then into a 45 degree angle off right from centerline. I shot approximately 8rds while quickly crab walking behind a wall of bullets to about 12-15 feet away and kept them all pretty much on Torso. I was shooting while moving. It was like stitching the target like a sewing machine.

I think it's a great skill to learn and could be the difference in life or death in a given situation.

Glad you like it, John. I assume you learned from Brownie?

Have you tried engaging from a vehicle yet? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on what you've learned so far.

DW,

What John described is a variation on a theme from what little I was shown of the CAR system.

Developed for the strong side "sprint and hits" technique which you'll see this year. I've been anticipating your opinions on those sprint and hits to strong and weakside once you were privy to them.

Your opinion and expertise with CAR may lead to some further modification. The strong side works well as John mentions at this time, but a true CAR guy as yourself may be able to tweak or enhance it further.

Brownie beat me here...obviously I did learn what he calls "sprints & hits" which is a variation of the C.A.R. system. I thought it was a great technique.

I'm interested in using it from a vehicle. Can you try to walk me through that a little?

Tried to put up an image. Didn't take for some reason.

Will try again here:

If you don't see it, check out www.pointshooting.com/carmag.htm

That info was developed from Paul's training materials and presented/posted with his approval.

It's deceptively simple. It's the CAR "Extended" stance, just sitting down. You're already naturally bladed when you're sitting in a vehicle - and switching from driver's window to passenger window, to windshield, to rear window is very smooth because you are so compact. You gotta get the hang of that whole opposite eye thing, though. That's what most people struggle the most with.
