Default My "Sightless" 45 used for training purposes

This gov 45 started as a parts kit. SAM [ phillipines ] frame, WW2 slide and parts kit, and was finished in Duracoat by AzEx in Mesa, Az. by a good friend of mine whose registered here by the name of Gunslinger808.

The slide has no dovetail cuts [ the rear dovetail was filled in before finishing ], and the milspec front sight was dremeled off and smoothed out so you can not tell it was ever there before duracoat was applied as well.

Put together by Nelson Ford of N. Phoenix, Az, it shoots all day and has about 1500 rds through it at this time. Most of the internals are new/used military parts and I had the short trigger put in the gun which is oh so nice at 4 pounds, no creep. Nelson does some great things with 45's and S+W revos. If you are in the Phoenix area, check out his website at:

The Duracoat finish is very tough stuff once hardened. The grime just dissolves and drops off the finish with brake cleaner [ like gun scrubber but 1/4 the price ].

Notice there are NO markings on the slide, it's devoid of everything including the sights.

Hola amigo,

I agree, just have not found a pair I like yet, but I've been looking. I might have to get a set of thin alumigrips and have the azqkr logo etched into them.

Folks, Gunslinger808 did the duracoat for me on the sightless45. He has talent. You should see his camo patterns on his "toys"

Sept/Oct seems like a wise choice right now. I've recently joined the local club there, but I'm not thinking of playing till this area cools off some. 113 yesterday, supposed to be 115 today.

Brownie,

Have to hook you up with a couple of mag carriers if you're gonna shoot a match with it.
Heading down to TN to see John and the rest of the Swiftwater guys - too bad you couldn't make it.
